About Sondra

I was born and raised in Arkansas, so I'm proud to say I am an Arkansas Native. I was raised around family who always encouraged me to reach my goals and dreams. I began my journey as an adult when I went to college to study Musical Theatre Education. I have always had a passion for music and theatre. I am a true musician at heart. In my journey I found my way to Florida where I met my husband Matt. We married in 2006 and later returned to Arkansas for the arrival of our first born son. When I became a mother, a fire was ignited in me. I discovered support was lacking for families in my community. My own personal struggles with my first son lead me to the role of becoming a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for my local Health Department. There I worked with many families in my local community from all walks of life. I knew I could do more. I then took a training and became a Doula. I felt both roles as a Doula and Lactation Specialist would help me to serve more families.

Over the past 12 years, I have had the honor of serving thousands of  families in the State of Arkansas. I have helped them reach their personal goals and feel empowered in their parenting choices. While serving families I opened up a Doula practice that works with other Doulas, educators, and lactation professionals in the state. Arkansas Doulas has over a dozen affiliated Doulas who share in my vision of serving all of Arkansas. In the middle of the 2020 Pandemic, I launched full throttle in continuing the path of The Arkansas Breastfeeding Clinic. My goal was to open the clinic up to accepting interns for clinical lactation hours, but the pandemic had other plans. I have always wanted to support the lactation community by helping others gain the experience they need so we can provide more support throughout all of Arkansas and to diversify the field of lactation professionals in our state. We rolled with the punches and in 2021 moved to full in clinic support inside Arkansas Pelvic Health. Over the years I have worked very hard in my community to collaborate with medical providers, health care workers, and hospitals in an effort to bridge the gap between growing families and those they trust to care for them on this journey.

I have a passion for helping people. I want to help you see the potential you have in yourself and I am here to support you every step of the way. I am available for personal coaching, speaking engagements, and business consults in regard to lactation consulting and doula practice operations.
